WAYLAND WILLINGHAM, YOUNG NY FIGHTERS FILL OUT
WASHINGTON AVENUE
ARMORY FIGHT CARD NOV. 9TH

Albany, N.Y. November 5, 2007 – Undefeated light welterweight Wayland Willingham (12-0, 7 KOs) takes on tough, experienced Damon Antoine in a six-round bout Nov. 9th at the Washington Avenue Armory in Albany, N.Y.

Willingham, a native of Albany living in Atlanta, Ga., is a prospect to watch in the competitive 140-lb division.  He won three out of his last four bouts by early KO.  Antoine, Akron, Ohio, has made a career of fighting prospects in their hometowns, including 16 undefeated opponents and opponents with a combined record of 77-4-4 in the past year.

Other bouts include European and Irish national amateur champion Alo Kelley (2-0-1, 1 KO) vs. William Santiago, (5-4, 1 KO), Puerto Rico; a rematch between featherweights Francisco Palacios (1-2-3, 1 KO), Bronx, and Harvey Murray, (2-0-1, 1 KO), Rochester, and the pro debuts of Buffalo featherweight Guillermo Sanchez and super middleweight Aubrey Bickerstaff, Paterson, N.J.

"This card will be filled with exciting, young, fighters from around the state," said Lisa Elovich, promoter of the event.  "Fans are in for another great evening of competitive boxing Nov. 9th."

Two rising power-punchers, Russell "Spiderman" Jordan (13-4, 9 KOs), Rochester, N.Y., and Alphonso "Souljah" Williams (10-2, 8 KOs), Pittsburgh, Penn., meet in an eight-round feature fight.  In another feature bout, local cruiserweights Chris Horn (2-0, 1 KO) and Jerry Speigel (3-1, 2 KOs) fight for a non-sanctioned, ceremonial title belt in the "Capital Region Cruiserweight Title Challenge," a competition to find the best local 190-lb boxer.

"Friday Night Fights" returns to the Armory, home of CBA's Albany Patroons, for the first time in 2007 after a successful run of shows in 2005-2006.  The event also will honor military service and veterans in the Capital Region, acknowledging vets during the fights and offering group discount rates for local veteran's organizations.

Tickets are on sale at the Armory box office, 518-694-7160, or through Ticketmaster, 518-476-1000 or www.ticketmaster.com.  Ringside tickets are $75 and Reserved are $40, both on the floor.  General Admission open seating in the bleachers is $25 with a special youth price of $15 for kids under 12.  Contact Pugnacious Promotions, 518-326-9756 or www.pugnaciouspromotions.com, for more information.
