NIGHT OF FUTURE CHAMPIONS:  FARAGON, MILLER, TRIVILINO

FEATURED IN UNDERCARD BOUTS JULY 31st IN SARATOGA

Saratoga Springs, July 13, 2009 – Undefeated Guilderland lightweight prospect Mike Faragon, Schenectady light welterweight and New York State Correction Officer Brian Miller and former nationally-ranked amateur featherweight Jaci Trivilino will be featured in undercard bouts on Pugnacious Promotions’ annual “Night of Future Champions” summer boxing event at the Saratoga Springs City Center on Friday, July 31st. 

The fights will be on the annual card showcasing young boxing prospects during the first weekend of world-class thoroughbred racing at Saratoga Springs’ historic track.  In the main event, New York State Heavyweight Champion Darrel Madison (13-1, 3 KOs), Central Islip, will defend his title against Newburgh’s Nagy Aguilera (13-1, 8 KOs).  In other exciting fights, Troy heavyweight Shannon Miller (16-4, 9 KOs) faces Plainfield, N.J. veteran Terrell Nelson (8-8, 5 KOs) and his brother Shawn Miller takes on Atlanta’s Valentine Fortenelly (0-3) in his pro debut. 

“I am so happy to have Mike, Brian and Jaci on the card,” said promoter Lisa Elovich.  “Mike is a highly-skilled, undefeated prospect who is recognized nationally, Brian is an exciting fighter who also has a big, local following and Jaci fought the fight of the night on our last card in March.  The energy in the room on the 31st will be through the roof when these guys get in the ring.  I can't wait to see them fight in these competitive bouts.”   

Faragon (6-0, 2 KOs) faces Puerto Rico’s Alberto Amaro (5-3, 2 KOs) in the toughest test of his young career.  Amaro has faced opponents with combined records of 25-5-1, including a number of undefeated prospects.  Faragon was the region’s most decorated recent amateur, becoming a pro as the number one-ranked 141 lb boxer in the country.  He was signed by Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions for his first few fights and won his last two fights by impressive KO.

Miller (3-0-3, 1 KO) faces Manny Cotrich (1-3, 1 KO), a native of Utica, NY, who began a rocky start to his career in Las Vegas.  Miller, a correction officer at Greene Correctional Facility, has won his last fight impressively, stopping veteran Luis Lopez on March 20^th. 

Trivilino (0-1-1) was a nationally-ranked amateur who debuted March 20^th in the most exciting fight of the night against New York Golden Gloves champion Amanda Serrano. Following a disputed draw in Yonkers in May, she looks for her first win against Cleveland pro debuter Trish Dedominco.
